Sherdahl owned the Rosehill Nursery near 12th/Westminster Road (Kingsway) (ca. 1903).  Tight vests provide a dignified aspect with pockets, notebooks, a watch. The sun is low in the horizon judging by the length of their shadows and illuminated faces. Late in the day or season. An equinoxal mix. Bare saplings aside cherry or dogwood perhaps. The outstretched hand a gesture of concern.
